Line cook will plan, prep, set-up, and provide quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials in accordance with standards and plating specifications set by the executive chef. Maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
Responsibilities:
-Set up and break down stations with all necessary supplies and maintain cleanliness
-Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
-Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
-Meet with Exec Chef to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes and other information pertinent to the job performance
-Minimize waste and maintain controls to attain forecasted food cost
-Stock inventory appropriately
-Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
-Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely
-Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations
-Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Requirements and Skills:
We are looking for a professional Line Cook with 2yrs experience preferred, but if you are willing to work hard and learn we are willing to teach.
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
Familiar with industry’s best practices
English/Spanish speaking kitchen
