Job Summary

Assumes responsibility and accountability for the provision of primary health care, medical management and education of perinatal and high risk OB inpatients and outpatients in collaboration with a physician.
Physician Assistants practice under the rules and regulations for Physician Assistants in the state in which they work.
Act as member of health care team assisting OB/Gyn health care providers in recognizing, understanding and caring for mental health issues that impact pregnancy and the postpartum period.
Determine the appropriateness of the patient receiving behavioral health services within the clinic environment, assesses additional service needs and provides case management for external referrals when indicated.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in making recommendations for clients who abuse, misuse, or divert controlled substances.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.

CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS

Licensure as a Physician Assistant and ability to practice in the state of South Dakota required.
Federal and State DEA certification is required for South Dakota.
National Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm; 80 hours every 2 weeks
