We are seeking an approachable and detail-oriented Human Resource Representative in Columbus, OH. The Human Resource Representative will serve as a point of contact for employees and assist with the administration of human resources policies, programs, and processes. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact information, job classification, pay rates, department changes, and other key details.
- Support recruitment efforts, including job postings, entry-level and intern resume review, offers, and conducting pre-employment checks.
- Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring all new hire forms are completed correctly and a smooth transition into the organization.
- Performs administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to staffing changes, which may include changes, terminations, leaves of absence, etc.
- Assists with the administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting employee information and notice of change in status to health, dental, life, disability, and other insurance carriers or insurance brokers.
- Maintains employee files, ensuring correct details are obtained and files are maintained in correct order.
- Provide support for employee engagement initiatives, training sessions, and HR projects.
- Assist with compliance efforts, including reporting and documentation related to labor laws and regulations.
- Conducts or assists with record audits and mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, payroll audits, and other compliance reviews.
- Crosstrain with our HR Coordinator, Benefits Coordinator, and the Director of HR to ensure continuity of operations.
- Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in the operations of the department and services performed.
- Assist with other general duties of the HR department, providing exceptional customer service to all applicants, team members, and clients.
- Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- 1-3 years of experience in a human resources role or related administrative position.
- Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- A team player with a proactive attitude and problem-solving mindset.
