About Superstar
Superstar Health Education is a small business based in San Francisco that teaches super-gender-inclusive health education to kids, youth and adults all around the Bay Area.
We're committed to medically accurate, age-appropriate, shame-free, comprehensive sexuality education. Grounded in our anti-oppression philosophy, our work encourages people to make informed decisions about caring for their bodies and being sexually healthy.
Our educators teach in many different environments and contexts, but the majority of our work is puberty education for late elementary age students and comprehensive sexual health for middle schoolers.
About the Role
Superstar Health Education seeks a sales and marketing specialist who is extremely comfortable and warm over the phone, to make marketing calls to schools who could serve as new clients.
This position is temporary and consists of an initial ‘batch’ of 85 hours of work, spread over January and February, 2025. Depending on results and circumstances, more hours may be available after that initial 85 are complete.
This role is very simple, because Superstar already possesses the contact information of the potential clients; therefore, 100% of this project consists of phone calls, with the associated conversations, messages, note-taking, follow-up calls, follow-up emails, etc. Your responsibility will not extend through the final sale; instead your goal is to, from an initial ‘cold call’, generate interested potential clients and hand them off to Superstar’s Program Manager for the next step in the sales process. The work is repetitive but not challenging - most schools are intrigued to hear about what we do. It simply takes many hours of calling to get through to the right contacts at each school.
After an initial training and practice session with Superstar’s Program Manager, the calls will be completed remotely, and must be worked between the hours of 8am and 4pm on weekdays (when schools are open).
Skills Required
Sales and marketing experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Charisma and warmth in communication
Persistence, resilience, and patience
Experience with common office software and computer systems
Good note-taking skills
Compensation:
Paid hourly as a regular W-2 employee, at a rate of $30 an hour, plus commission. This position is temporary and consists of an initial ‘batch’ of 85 hours of work.
Commission Details:
Commission will not be paid immediately, but as a bonus later in the year. As a sales and marketing specialist, your goal will be to bring in new client leads and connect them to your supervisor, Superstar’s Program Manager. Ideally, those leads will result in new contracts; if they do, you will be paid a bonus of 10% of the gross value of the new contracts, up to a cap of $500 each. Since Superstar’s client contracts range from roughly $2,000 up to $20,000, each new client would add $200-$500 to your total final compensation.
In addition, if you achieve spectacular results and bring in a total of $50,000 worth of new clients, Superstar will pay an additional $2,500 bonus on top of the bonuses and wage compensation already paid. This means that your final compensation for the 85 hours of work could range from $2,500 to over $10,000.
