RCM is now hiring paraeducators and behavior technicians for SFUSD. As a paraeducator/BT, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs within our school. Working closely with special education teachers and other educational professionals, you will provide personalized assistance and guidance to students with disabilities, fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth. Your dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment will contribute to the success and well-being of our students. Key Responsibilities:
-Assist Special Education Teachers: Collaborate closely with special education teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and other instructional strategies tailored to students' specific needs.
-Provide One-on-One Support: Offer personalized support to students with disabilities in various academic subjects, helping them understand and complete assignments and tasks.
-Behavioral Support: Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and provide positive behavioral support to manage and redirect challenging behaviors.
-Adapt Materials: Modify and adapt instructional materials, as needed, to accommodate students' unique learning styles and abilities.
-Assist with Personal Care: Help students with daily living activities, including toileting, feeding, and mobility, if required.
-Monitor Progress: Track and document students' progress and behavior, maintaining accurate records and sharing insights with the special education team.
-Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with special education teachers, general education teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
-Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of students, following all school and district safety protocols.
-Professional Development: Participate in training sessions and workshops to stay updated on best practices in special education and instructional techniques.
Qualifications:
-AA degree or 48 college credits completed OR parapro certificate
-Previous experience working with students with disabilities is highly desirable.
-Knowledge of special education principles, strategies, and assistive technologies.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students of diverse abilities.
-Ability to adapt to the changing needs of students and the classroom environment.
-Willingness to undergo background checks and meet all state and district requirements.
