Job Description: Food Sourcing Assistant
Note: All employees and drivers are subject to random drug and alcohol testing and are required to provide emergency contact information.
Job Summary: Support SPIRIT of Santa Paula’s strategic plan by assisting with food acquisition and distribution. Assists the General Manager and SPIRIT Director in maintaining accurate reporting and consistent flow of product to ensure food safety and supply,
Essential Functions: Assist in the management of Food Share’s inventory by:
1. Manage food supplies and storage.
2. Must have valid driver’s license and be willing to pick up food on emergency basis.
3. Supporting the non-profit dedicated to ending homelessness in the Santa Clara River Valley.
4. Follow best practices for all food acquisition and storage and distribution
5. Obtain a Food Safety Certificate
6. Present a positive and professional attitude at pickup and distribution sites
7. Manage food supplies by date for food safety
8. Be available for emergency food pickups
9. Follow SPIRIT guidelines for food distribution and observe fairness guidelines.
10. Document and record various reports for food rescue, shelter, drop in center services, etc.
Job Qualifications:
• Must have a valid driver’s license and assist with food pickups in company vehicles
• Must be professional, kind and reliable
• Reading and writing skills
Physical Requirements:
• Lifting (up to 35 lbs.)
• Able to drive with a good driving record.
