As a key leaders within our dynamic organization, you will be at the forefront of driving engineering strategy and development, ensuring seamless alignment with business goals and market dynamics that support our vast digital portfolio and unmatched in-person experiences. Your role will be pivotal in fostering innovation, enhancing competitiveness, and elevating customer satisfaction surprising and delighting audiences and guests with the quality and creativity that is expected with each interaction with Disney. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will play a crucial part in driving successful product launches, contributing to the long-term growth of The Walt Disney Company.
We are seeking an experienced and visionary engineering leader to lead this dynamic team of ~2,000 engineers that support 200+ products including Disney+, Star+, Hulu, ESPN/ESPN+, ABC, ABC News, Nat Geo and many more. The EVP, Product Engineering will play a pivotal role in shaping our technical roadmap, ensuring seamless content delivery, enhancing user experiences, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. This individual will lead a software engineering organization that spans across consumer software engineering (search/personalization, streaming and cloud/product platforms) and video engineering (player, CDN, meda data tools, content acquisition/sync and media operations) across the entire product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:Technical Priorities:- Lead the system implementation for experiential and interactive content personalized to audiences and guests across our portfolio of touch-points.
- Utilize data-driven insights to inform decisions related to content curation, audience engagement, and personalized recommendations, driving user retention and growth.
- Responsible for driving the overall user experience, growth and engagement paradigms for our global portfolio of consumer-facing streaming and digital products which is critical to our long-term growth.
- Bridge the traditional media world with the rapidly evolving realm of digital streaming, ensuring a seamless experience for our global audience.
- Collaborate with content creators to tailor content effectively for diverse platforms, recognizing the distinct intricacies between linear broadcasting and streaming.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of our streaming platforms and digital products including advertising and data platforms ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
- Create best-in-class employee experience through a digital-first strategy that enables our employees to take advantage of all things Disney.
- Ensure tools are consistently delivering enterprise solutions that enable our business to run effectively and efficiently at all times.

Strategy Formation- Collaborate with business unit executives to design and implement the digital strategy, integration and partnership opportunities to create solutions and products that converge the physical and digital guest, fan and audience experiences, driving increased guest and consumer satisfaction and revenue opportunities.
- Continue to deliver responsive, creative and agile digital content creation, publication and operations across all of TWDC.
- Identify and accelerate the adoption of emerging technology innovation with a keen focus on the quickly evolving opportunities in AI.
- Continue to focus on identifying new trends, products, digital driven business models and new businesses to support the growth objectives of Disney.
- Identify emerging technologies and trends in the streaming and media industry. Spearhead research and development initiatives to leverage these technologies for enhancing content creation, distribution, and user engagement.
Partnerships- Partner with various functional domain executive leaders to develop and refine the technology strategy and capabilities roadmap.
- Collaborate with business units to ensure proper alignment to business strategy.
- Collaborate with peers across The Walt Disney Company to leverage best practices and drive projects that advance business goals.
- Develop and leverage a network of external business partners, digital and technology thought leaders.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing technology team of over 2000 technologists. Foster a collaborative and innovative culture that encourages continuous learning, professional growth, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with external vendors, technology partners, and industry experts to stay ahead of technological advancements and leverage external expertise where necessary.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
- Proven track record of at least 15 years in a senior technology leadership role within the hospitality, media, entertainment, or streaming industry.
- Demonstrated inclusive leadership, which embraces diversity; Ability to build and inspire talented teams.
- Ability to establish productive relationships with various executives within TWDC and the ability to operate in matrixed and complex environments.
- Establish a clear vision for the business of operation; maintain long-term view; able to foresee obstacles and opportunities and generate breakthrough ideas.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; demonstrated strong business acumen.
- Experience with management of global teams who work in a variety of ways, both remote and onsite.
- Ability to channel different points of view; establish and maintain excellent relationships and credibility quickly; create a team atmosphere while achieving key objectives.
