We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee a large-scale horizontal infrastructure project. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project, ensuring it is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to manage complex logistics, coordination, and communication across multiple stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in managing large infrastructure projects, a deep understanding of construction processes, and a proven track record of successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities: - Project Leadership and Oversight:
- Lead, plan, and execute all aspects of the horizontal infrastructure project, ensuring successful delivery from initiation to close-out.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for the project team, ensuring alignment with project goals, objectives, and timelines.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders, including clients, contractors, subcontractors, regulatory bodies, and the internal project team.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive project management plan, including scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk management, and communication plans.
- Oversee the creation and management of detailed project schedules and budgets, ensuring they align with the overall project objectives.
- Define project deliverables and milestones, and ensure that all project activities are completed according to the approved scope, schedule, and quality standards.
- Coordinate and manage the efforts of multidisciplinary teams (engineering, construction, procurement, etc.) to ensure the project's success.
- Budget and Cost Management:
- Ensure the project stays within the allocated budget by actively monitoring expenditures and implementing effective cost control measures.
- Oversee project financials, including cost tracking, forecasts, invoicing, and reporting.
- Identify potential budget risks and recommend corrective actions to avoid cost overruns.
- Approve and monitor project procurement and contracts, including managing any necessary change orders.
- Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with the project, including technical, financial, and operational risks.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, ensuring proactive responses to any potential issues or delays.
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as needed to minimize risks and maintain project momentum.
- Team Leadership and Coordination:
- Build, lead, and manage a high-performing project team, providing mentorship and guidance to junior staff and sub-contractors.
- Conduct regular project team meetings to ensure coordination, resolve issues, and ensure everyone is aligned with project goals and deadlines.
- Foster a collaborative and effective team environment, ensuring clear communication and coordination across various project stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance and Control:
- Ensure the quality of work meets the project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
- Develop and enforce quality control processes and procedures to maintain high standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Address any quality issues in a timely manner, ensuring solutions are implemented to avoid project delays or rework.
- Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with all project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, milestones, and risks.
- Prepare and deliver project reports, including financial status, schedule updates, and progress reports to clients and senior management.
- Ensure that all documentation is accurately recorded and filed, and that project reports and updates are delivered in a timely manner.
- Contractor and Vendor Management:
- Oversee the procurement and management of contractors and vendors, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
- Monitor contractor performance, ensuring that they adhere to contractual terms, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Resolve disputes or issues with contractors, vendors, or other stakeholders to maintain project timelines and objectives.
- Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
- Ensure that health, safety, and environmental regulations and protocols are strictly adhered to on-site.
- Foster a culture of safety within the project team, ensuring that all workers are trained and adhere to safety standards.
- Ensure environmental compliance and promote sustainable practices on the project site.
- Project Close-Out:
- Oversee the project close-out process, ensuring that all deliverables have been met and the project is completed to client satisfaction.
- Ensure all documentation, including as-built drawings, reports, and final invoices, is completed and submitted.
- Conduct project reviews, capturing lessons learned and identifying areas for improvement in future projects.
Position Requirements Qualifications: - Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PMI, AACE) or construction management are highly desirable.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing large-scale horizontal infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, utilities, bridges).
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex infrastructure projects, from planning through execution and close-out.
- Extensive experience in budgeting, cost control, risk management, and project scheduling.
- Skills:
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex issues and develop effective solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and risk management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore, or similar tools).
- Certifications:
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar project management certification is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with construction safety standards and regulations (OSHA, HSE, etc.) is a plus.
Working Conditions: - Full-time position based on-site at the infrastructure project location.
- Occasional travel may be required for site inspections, meetings, or client visits.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, high-pressure environment with tight deadlines.
