Central Oregon Truck Company, a nationwide leader in the flatbed trucking and logistics industry, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our high-energy sales and planning team.
This is a fast-paced transportation sales position offering great potential for a committed individual with a competitive drive and passion to succeed. Responsibilities include developing new business, growing existing customer business and acting as a liaison to arrange and complete freight shipments. Prior transportation dispatch, brokerage or similar business experience preferred but not required.
JOB DETAILS:
- Solicit and secure shipments from credit approved customers, to fulfill the needs of our driving team
- Plan loads for drivers to maximize production of miles and get drivers home for personal needs
- Build relationships with existing customer base and service the needs of each account
- Negotiate rates with customers and present rate quotes
- Coordinate and communicate all shipment details and schedules
- Provide information to the driving team to execute correctly on all shipments
- Follow and track shipments from order to delivery
- Coordinate all load and delivery times for our driving team with customers
- Provide proactive and timely service to customers
- Input accurate customer load information into computer database
- Prepare, verify and process all required documentation
- Provide support and assistance to team members as necessary
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years in sales, customer service and account management
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment
- High organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Exceptional problem solving skills
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience in Freight, Transportation or Logistics environment
- Negotiation and closing experience
