ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: MST is currently looking for people who want to learn and improve their welding skills. It is mostly automated and requires hand grinding and other detail related work. In essence, welders will perform automated welding of primarily stainless steel and hardfacing overlays.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: The ideal candidate will have at least a basic knowledge of how to weld, but we will also be on job training since our specialty work requires unique skills that must be crafted over time. You just need to pay attention to details and have a ‘willingness to learn’ mindset.
Specific skills include, but are not limited to, operating welding equipment using appropriate GMAW and GTAW techniques to weld overlays. Preparing weldments using tools such as: hand grinders, pneumatic cutting tools, wire brushes, and various hand tools of the trade. Basic interpretation of drawings will be learned on the job. Operation of overhead cranes, forklifts, and other fabrication equipment. Keeping work area professional, clean, and safe. The majority of this position requires welding, but if also interested in machining, then that too could become another skillset to learn at a later time. We have manual and CNC machines.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: We require attention-to-detail, and an appreciation for quality. Ideal candidates will have experience with welding machines. However, with a strong desire to weld, we would consider training on the job at a lower wage until your production skills advance accordingly.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Indoor manufacturing environment, and the proper protective equipment will be provided, as necessary, with a Safety First approach.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Candidates must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. This position requires mostly standing, manual labor, and sitting/observing once the automation is running. There is some intermittent repetitive motion such as hand grinding between weld passes.

Monday – Thursday starting at 6:00-7:00 am
Flexible lunch break: 30 to 60 minutes
