Position Summary:Schafer Industries is currently seeking a
Corporate Finance Manager located in
St. Louis, MO, reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for Schafer's corporate finance function. Adds value by delivering and presenting key financial data and analysis to leadership including the CFO and CEO on a regular basis. Works closely with HR leadership to ensure reliability of payroll and benefit information and processes. Supports and collaborates with business unit operations and accounting teams. Also works closely with parent company finance personnel to deliver financial reports and other data.

Job Summary:The Corporate Finance Manager oversees corporate accounting, treasury, payables and financial payroll and benefits functions. Responsible for monthly financial statement consolidation and financial reporting as well as annual financial statement audits, internal audits and benefit plan audits. Assists with other projects as needed including capital expenditure analysis, cost reductions and process improvements, and system upgrades and implementations.
Essential Functions:- Responsible for monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statement closing and consolidation. Includes ensuring close timeliness and accuracy, performing and reviewing account reconciliations and journal entry preparations/postings.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and other data for leadership, including the CFO and CEO, as well as parent company personnel.
- Oversee and coordinate all financial audits including year-end external audits, benefit plan audits and periodic internal audits.
- Manage the treasury function for all business units including cash flow monitoring and forecasting, accounts payable and disbursements. Complete bank reconciliations.
- Monitor and optimize working capital and related reserves including customer credit levels and doubtful accounts, excess and obsolete inventory and vendor payable terms.
- Oversee capital expenditure spending and assist with capital project analyses and approvals.
- Assist business units and CFO with annual budget process and performance tracking compared to operating and strategic plans.
- Manage one direct report responsible primarily for payables and payroll processes.
- Coordinate tax filings and information requests for Schafer business units and parent company tax personnel.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. CPA certification strongly preferred.
- 4-6 years of experience within a financial/accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with financial statement audits.
- Must have strong problem solving and decision-making skills and good business acumen.
- Desire and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional personnel at multiple business units.
- Travel to company manufacturing locations is required; approximately 10-20% as needed.
