Responsibilities:
• Sets up line for each shift ensuring quality and adequate supplies of food, utensils, wiping cloths, fills and tests sani-buckets, and maintains clean floor.
• Checks and records food temperatures and maintains hot and cold temperatures throughout shift.
• Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
• Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
• Cleans, restocks, and organizes the station for the next shift making note of any shortages or quality issues.
• Maintains spotless area including refrigerators.
• Tastes food for quality control with tasting spoons.
Requirements:
• At least one year of cooking experience
• Excellent kitchen food safety and sanitation knowledge and ability to work as part of a team
• Strong organization and active listening skills
• The ability to work on your feet for most of the day and lift 50 pounds at a time
• Exceptional time management skill
• Desire to learn all stations and to teach and train new team members when they come onboard.
• Ability to read recipes and be mindful of food waste and scheduled hours.
• Ability to ask for help when needed
• Desire to be helpful and jump in where needed.
• Ability and desire to maintain time temperature records to avoid abuse of foods
• Practices frequent handwashing and encourages others to do the same
• Always wears food protection gloves when handling ready-to-eat food that will not be cooked.
• Maintains strict and accurate portion control
• Takes pride in producing quality food in taste, texture and appearance.
