CONTEXT
Small United Methodist Church (www.camaschurch.net) near downtown Camas, WA (just east of Vancouver, WA) with Sunday services (10am Sundays). Looking for vibrant, enthusiastic pianist (vocal skills also desired). Sanctuary equipped with a grand piano and large electronic organ. Immediate opening.
RESPONSIBILITIES/EXPECTATIONS
1 Provides organ and/or piano music for regularly scheduled worship services (1 service per Sunday) and (rare) special music rehearsals.
2 Supplies prelude, offertory (church offering) and postlude music — can be hymn, instrumental, classical.
3 Provides music for other events (weddings and funerals) if feasible. An honorarium (minimum $150) would be routinely provided.
4 Provides accompaniment for seasonal liturgical services (no more than 2 yearly) such as (but not limited to) Lent or Advent events that aren't on Sundays.
5 Professional conduct: Demonstrates professionalism (demeanor, attitude, cooperation, timeliness, etc.).
6 Other duties (if any) as negotiated.
7 Pay commensurate to experience (around $125/Sunday).
8 Four (or more if negotiated) Sundays off per year.
9 Ability to sing preferred.
10 Ability to read music required.
11 Sunday workday approx 9:15-11:15
