About Full Employment Now-Political Action Committee (FEN-PAC): FEN-PAC is an independent expenditure political organization (super PAC) that advocates for a Job Guarantee to ensure living-wage jobs for everyone. A Job Guarantee is a government program designed to provide employment opportunities for individuals unable to secure full-time work. This program would create living-wage jobs through government investments in sectors such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, climate change solutions, and other socially beneficial goods and services.
FEN-PAC's mission is to educate and mobilize voters around Job Guarantee policies, lobby elected officials, elect political candidates who support this policy, and hold them accountable after they are elected.
Job Description: The Paid Relational Organizing will be responsible for recruiting, coordinating, and mobilizing voters to participate in FEN-PAC's paid relational organizing program. Participants in the program will receive a stipend to engage their personal networks to take action in support of Job Guarantee policies. These actions will primarily include small-dollar fundraising, contacting elected officials, sharing informational content, and participating in both online and offline activism.
The Paid Relational Organizer will oversee up to 150+ paid participants utilizing the 'Empower Project' relational organizing software platform. The 'Empower Project' staff will provide training and technical support to facilitate the implementation of the platform.
This is a remote independent contractor position available for immediate start. This position operateson a month-to-month contract, with the first two months guaranteed. An evaluation will be conducted at the end of each month to determine the continuation of the contract. Work hours will vary.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to create and execute a plan to recruit 150+ participants into FEN-PAC's paid relational organizing program
- Work with the ‘EmpowerProject’ staff on training and technical support to utilize their paid relational organizing software platform
- Onboard, support, and oversee 150+ paid relational program participants
- Mobilize paid relational organizing program participants to take actions such as fundraising, community engagement, contacting elected officials, and various online and offline activism
- Organize data and report on the progress of the relational organizing program
- Create a positive, inspired, inclusive, and effective activism culture
Priority Characteristics and Experience
- At least 3 to 5 years of professional experience in grassroots organizing, electoral politics, the labor movement, or advocacy for socioeconomic justice
- A demonstrated commitment to social, racial, and economic justice
- Previous experience training and organizing volunteers or managing paid canvassers
- Effective communication skills
- Proficient in technology and social media
- Critical thinking skills, ability to generate ideas, and solve problems creatively
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Commitment and ability to create a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment free from discrimination or harassment
- Additional consideration will be given to candidates who have experience with relational organizing and who are fluent in a second language
- Access to a reliable laptop and cell phone is required
Compensation: This is a remote independent contractor position. Compensation is $4,500 per month operating a month-to-month contract with the first two months guaranteed. An evaluation will be conducted at the end of each month to determine the continuation of contract. Work hours will vary.
