Location: This position requires being fully on-site at our Austin, TX facility to ensure seamless collaboration and hands-on support for daily operations.
The opportunity
As a Material Handler, within our Shipping and Receiving team, you will be responsible for managing the receipt of all inbound freight and processing all outbound shipments, which include both domestic and international orders. Your tasks will involve picking, packing, staging, and shipping products from the warehouse. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to, forklift operation, supply chain services, managing the availability of critical parts, supporting engineering requirements, controlling inventory, and providing customer service support to Magic Leap's remote facilities.
What you’ll do
- Verify, receive, document, and stock inventory using SAP, FIFO methods, and resolve discrepancies with purchasing and finance teams.
- Process, pick, kit, pack, stage, and ship customer orders, including preparing and maintaining shipping and import/export documentation.
- Replenish inventory, report discrepancies, and perform cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy.
- Coordinate shipments with carriers, resolve delivery issues, and manage tracking and exceptions.
- Support engineering and sales operations by managing kitting requests and intellectual property (IP) collateral.
- Maintain warehouse standards through 7S practices, safety training, and organized storage areas.
- Inspect and maintain material handling equipment, addressing potential issues proactively.
- Contribute to process improvements and provide outstanding customer service to internal stakeholders.
- Assist with packing and palletizing products.
The experience you bring
- 4+ years of proven warehousing experience with a strong understanding of logistics and operations.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Expertise in shipping and receiving, including managing shipments and verifying deliveries.
- Hands-on experience with inventory management, particularly cycle counting for accuracy and control.
- Proven expertise in packaging and palletizing, with a focus on handling high-value, high-risk, and delicate products.
- Proficient in Google Workspace applications, including Google Sheets, Docs, Slides, and Drive, with the ability to leverage these tools for effective collaboration and productivity.
- Comprehensive understanding of ERP systems within manufacturing settings
- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with team members and external stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and systems, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
It’s exciting if you also have
- Additional training in Logistics, supply chain management, or business administration is a plus
- Prior experience in kitting and assembly processes.
- Knowledge of import/export regulations and procedures.
- Familiarity with 5S or 7S methodologies for workplace organization and efficiency.
- Hands-on experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Understanding of Material Movement Requests (MMRs) and their role in inventory and logistics workflows.
- Familiarity with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and their impact on production and operational processes
Additional Requirements
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy objects
- Ability to use warehouse equipment (Ex, forklift, pallet jacks)
