Summary:
The Vehicle Patrol Security Officer is responsible for conducting regular patrols on an assigned route in a company-owned vehicle, often supplemented by foot patrols. The role ensures the security and safety of client property, assets, staff, and personnel. This officer investigates disturbances and acts lawfully to defend employees and property. A strong emphasis is placed on crime deterrence, safety, and customer service.
Responsibilities:
• Act as a visible crime deterrent while maintaining a professional, approachable demeanor.
• Patrol assigned areas regularly to deter criminal activity and ensure a safe environment.
• Provide exceptional customer service while ensuring the security of the premises.
• Investigate and report irregularities, suspicious activities, security breaches, and safety hazards.
• Submit detailed, accurate reports on daily activities, incidents, and vehicle inspections.
• Remove trespassers or wrongdoers from premises as needed, following company protocols.
• Follow all security protocols, regulations, and policies while ensuring a safe and secure environment.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and other security staff about security-related matters.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Must possess a valid BSIS Guard Card.
• Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age (preferably 25 or older, in accordance with vehicle insurance policy).
• Completion of mandatory security training (40 hours/AB2880).
• 1+ years of experience in security (preferred).
• Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods; able to climb stairs and walk on uneven terrain.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
• Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Education and Certifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Active Security Guard License and completion of required training.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to drive, stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, lifting up to 10 pounds, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions (outdoor, evening/overnight shifts).
Environment:
• Work in outdoor conditions, with exposure to heat, cold, and varying weather during overnight shifts.
• Work in varying conditions such as parking lots, building perimeters, and other site-specific areas.
Schedule:
• Non-exempt hourly position with a schedule of 8:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Overtime may be required based on operational needs; any hours worked over 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week will be compensated at overtime rates.
