Job Title: EHS Manager
Job SummaryAs an Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor at AMP United, you will be working as part of a team in the shipyard industry that is sub-contracted for blasting and coating ship repair to ensure company Environmental Health and Safety compliance in accordance with federal, state, and industry standards.
Reports to: Compliance and Risk Manager
Responsibilities - Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating safety and environmental policy and procedure manuals.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations, and keep abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
- Implement and maintain company policies adhering to local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Maintain EH&S Systems (Such as MSDS/SDS, Safety and Environmental Recordkeeping, etc.)
- Maintain current knowledge of state and federal regulations governing occupational safety, health and environmental to include, but not limited to 29CFR, 40CFR, and 49CFR.
- Develop and conducts site inspections and audits as needed to Identify hazards, recommend preventative measures and corrective actions.
- Assist and lead in the investigation of accidents to ascertain root causes for use in recommending preventive safety measures and corrective actions. Assist, and perform where required, with industrial hygiene testing and maintenance for noise, heat, chemical exposure, and other hazards.
- Responsible for the development, conduction, and compliance of on-the-job safety training (i.e., OSHA 10, Safety Indoctrination., VSRA, Machine operator certification.)
- Oversees day to day operations of company's Safety Inspector's and ensure safety compliance of all Company Employees.
Minimum Educational QualificationsMinimum Previous Experience - Minimum of 2-3 years' EHS field experience in the maritime industry
Minimum Additional Training - OSHA 10, OSHA 30, OSHA 3095

- Shipyard Competent Person
- SSPC C3
Other Skills - Environmental Health and Safety regulatory knowledge and experience.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of the EHS field.
- Adept with creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets.
- Excellent written, verbal, and telephone skills.
- Demonstrates initiative, problem-solving skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Must have the ability to meet all month-end schedules and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills along with a high degree of accuracy required.
