Position Summary:
In support of the Agency’s mission, this position is responsible for delivering meals, mail and supplies to Community Action sites throughout Washington County in an Agency-owned passenger van. Duties include ensuring the deliveries are completed according to daily schedule, in a professional manner and in good condition. Must be able to maintain records of deliveries in an accurate manner and receive directions via phone, e-mail, and person to person.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Transport meals and deliver to designated Community Action sites throughout Washington County.
• Load food carriers onto van for delivery to Agency sites. Return food equipment to central kitchen.
• Pick up and deliver mail and supplies from one point to another.
• Assist with transfer and movement of classroom equipment and furniture as needed.
• Maintain a written log of activities and mileage and report any vehicle deficiencies to supervisor.
• Daily check of help desk system to complete assigned tickets.
• Conduct monthly safety inspections (i.e. - fire extinguishers).
• Strictly adhere to all safety policies and procedures at all times and respond/correct any at-risk safety issues immediately.
• Strictly adhere to agency code of ethics and standards of workplace behavior.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs including regular and reliable attendance and adherence to all company workplace behavior standards.
• Support facilities, maintenance, and warehouse activities such as archiving documents during the summer months.

Required Education/Training/Experience:
• One or more years of related job experience.
• No chargeable accidents or moving violations in the 3 years immediately preceding employment.
• Ability to comprehend and carry out verbal or written instructions.
• Ability to communicate with a diverse population in a professional and respectful manner.
• Continuous mental and/or visual effort for a sustained period of time.
• Sustained high degree of care and awareness required to prevent physical injuries.
• Regular, routine contact with other departments and occasional external contacts primarily to supply or seek information.

Required Licensing or Other Special Certifications:
• Must have a valid driver’s license, maintain a good driving record, and proof of insurance for personal vehicle.
• Current Oregon Food Handler’s card (or obtained within 30 days of employment).
Required Physical Demands of Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Must be able to successfully pass applicable background and Oregon Central Background Registry checks prior to new hire processing and beginning actual employment.
• Work shift may vary according to program need.
• Frequent exposure to a full variety of outdoor weather conditions while driving and performing delivery functions outdoors.
• Significant portion of working time spent driving a passenger van on public roads with varying levels of traffic and variable weather conditions.
• Some time spent in preschool classroom settings.
• Constant contact with children and the public.
• Must be able to push and pull wheeled food carts on and off van and into buildings both when fully loaded and empty.
• Daily lifting of items weighing up to 50 lbs, frequent lifting and/or carrying of items weighing up to 25 lbs.
• In normal work day, may stand/walk 1-2 hrs/day; may sit _6_ hrs/day; may drive 6 - 8 hrs/week; may use hands for repetitive grasping, pushing and pulling, typing and fine manipulation _6 - 8_ hrs/day; may use hands at or above shoulder level for _1_ hrs/day.
• In normal work day, may bend, squat, and/or climb and enter/exit vehicles on a frequent basis.
