North Natomas Jibe is looking for people who enjoy riding a bike to inspire the next generation of riders. As a paid, part-time cycling instructor, you’ll guide students while helping our community embrace active transportation.
We are looking for applicants with teaching experience who enjoy riding their bike. If you have time for some flexible, daytime work, help us bring the joy and freedom of getting around by bicycle to a new generation! You don’t need to be an expert at cycling, just enjoy riding your bike, and we’ll teach you what you need to know.
We run a bike education program, Project Ride Smart, in seven North Natomas schools with school day morning work shifts ranging from 3 – 6 hours. A typical shift could fall any time between 7:00am – 3:00pm. Project Ride Smart provides 10 hours of instruction to 5th graders during the school day in spring and fall months employing a team of League Cycling Instructors (LCIs). Project Ride Smart’s typical seasons are March – May and September – October. We have limited additional opportunities teaching all ages throughout the year too!
If you are selected based on an initial interview, we’ll pay for your LCI training. You are required to obtain and maintain this certification and have background checks completed while working for Jibe.
Applicants will be hired upon completion of required LCI certification and demonstration of adequate skill.
Ready to join us? Send letter of interest, providing information about your related background (letter or resume) and contact information. Current LCIs please send copies of active LCI certification and membership dues from the LAB.
