Position: Sander (Finishing Department) Entry Level (P1) to Journey Level (P4)
Job Type: Full-time
Shift and Schedule: Dayshift 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday – Friday
Company Overview: Join Gantri, Inc., a leading innovator in the field of manufacturing, specializing in the creation of revolutionary lighting products. This position is an integral part of our Finishing Department.
Position Overview: As a member of the Finishing Department at Gantri, the Sander will play a crucial role in the finishing process for our Table Lights, Wall Lights, and Floor Lights. You will be responsible for using sanding equipment such as orbital sanders to ensure that products meet our high-quality standards and aesthetic requirements.
This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, motivated, and committed to producing top-quality finished products. Gantri uses 3D printers to manufacture Consumer Lighting products such as table lamps, wall lamps and floor lamps. Our lights are painted in various colors at our factory. Significant sanding is required on the raw materials after printing and primer coatings are applied.
Previous experience in woodworking production or automotive body repair and paint would be great.
Responsibilities:
Operate sanding equipment to smooth and finish lighting product components.
Follow detailed instructions and quality control standards to achieve the desired finish.
Inspect finished parts for any defects or imperfections and make necessary corrections.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, promoting safety and compliance with protocols.
Maintain inventories including counting and adjusting inventories on our Admin systems.
Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve any sanding issues.
Required to work in any area of manufacturing including cross training in Print, QC and Assembly.

Qualifications:
A strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to follow instructions and adhere to quality control standards and help wherever asked.
Basic knowledge of sanding equipment or a willingness to learn.
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Eagerness to learn and grow within the company.
Personal Protective Equipment (Environmental Health & Safety):
You will be required to wear eye protection.
You will be required to wear Tyvek coveralls over your clothes.
You will be required to wear a face mask / respirator (including being fitted).
You will be required to pass a company sponsored physical examination.

Job Level Descriptions in Sanding:
P1 - Entry Level with no experience.
P2 - Standard Level achieved after the first 6 months or previous basic experience..
P3 - Advanced Level achieved after demonstrating advanced sanding skills or demonstrated previous experience in wood working or automotive repair industries.
P4 - Journey Level sander/crafter with quality, speed of craft, previous experience in wood working or automotive repair industries and leadership skills.
*Due to the advanced nature of the sanding craft, a $2 per hour adder is paid out on top of the normal hourly rates once the employee has been certified in the area.
