This position is being created for a person who is interested in a career within the landscape industry. Westgro is involved with the public sector in restoring native areas and wetland buffers, the maintenance of these same areas along with private sector landscape management projects. Applicants should have extended knowledge of PNW native plants, a broad understanding of NW ornamentals along with plant establishment planning and execution. Invasive controls using both mechanical and chemical means (pesticide app. lic w/aq., either possess or willing to obtain). Understand soils, mulches, the use of related tools/equipment and irrigation along with the impact they have. Applicants should have the ability and willingness to take on the unexpected, bring a positive attitude and look for opportunities to learn. We are looking for someone with classroom knowledge along with some field experience. This is a 'manager training position' that lives in the field, not a desk job.
