In this role, you'll be working closely with our Chief People Officer and other HR leaders to deliver efficient and effective core HR services and offer competitive total rewards that support our goal of becoming an employer of choice.
We're seeking an experienced candidate to serve as a Director of Total Rewards. This role is responsible for management of compensation and benefit plan design, vendor selection, leave of absence administration, and total rewards strategy execution. You'll manage compensation and benefits teams and serve as the primary point of contact for all benefit and compensation vendor interactions. Strong candidates will bring excellent leadership skills, business acumen, and subject matter expertise (compensation plan design, benefit design and execution, internal communication, external market connectivity / reputation, etc.) to this role. An exceptional candidate will be able to delegate and effectively manage teams to deliver on key measurables, such as:
- Analysis and tracking of key compensation and benefit plan performance data;
- Benchmarking against market competitors (in line with CHKD's business objectives);
- Employee retention and total rewards satisfaction; and
- Program and operational budget compliance.
This position reports directly to the Chief People Officer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Clearly define and manage CHKD's overall total rewards strategy, in partnership with relevant HR and senior leadership stakeholders
- Oversee administration of employee benefits programs (retirement, health, dental, vision, wellness, life insurance, disability, etc.)
- Monitor the effectiveness of current total rewards strategy (compensation + benefit plans) and recommend adjustments as needed to remain in line with CHKD's goals and competitive position within their local and national markets
- Handle escalation of benefits or compensation inquiries from staff or more junior compensation / benefits team employees
- Oversee leave of absence of administration, ensuring an appropriately clear and transparent process for employees and managers
- Coordinate implementation of any new benefit or compensation strategies
- Consult on premium and cost sharing recommendations, as they align to CHKD's overall total rewards strategy
- Supervise the day-to-day vendor relationships, including managing the enrollment and eligibility processes, preparing and distributing compensation and benefit plan communications to employees, designing relevant educational marketing materials, etc.
- Manage relevant processes, including but not limited to: open enrollment; promotions, annual bonuses, and raises process; and rewards compliance processes
- Contribute to the annual labor budgeting processes
- Work with the Workforce Analytics team and CHKD IT teams and vendors to create appropriate data tracking tools
- Motivate and lead a high-performance team; attract, recruit, and retain required members of the team; provide mentoring and development opportunities that are commensurate with an "employer of choice"

- 8+ years of progressive total rewards related work experience
- Relevant experience working in a healthcare provider
- Experience working within HR teams for medium to large organizations

WORKING CONDITIONS- Work is performed in an office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, etc.
