PURPOSE OF JOB:
The System Administrator is focused on managing, troubleshooting, licensing, and updating hardware and software assets. The incumbent ensures that appropriate measures are proactively followed in response to unforeseen issues such as downtime or vulnerabilities.
The System Administrator collaborates with other members of IT Operations in the implementation of security technologies and secure practices, and in the areas of network infrastructure, Active Directory, Mobile Device Management (MDM), Security Awareness Training, Identity Manager (SSO), Compliance, Help Desk services, and other assigned projects.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Administers enterprise applications such as Active Directory, Intune, Okta, Microsoft 365, Slack, Zoom, DocuSign, Envoy, Wiki, 1Password, etc.
· Manages R&D laboratory applications to support the chemistry, biology, and the vivarium teams.
· Configures Windows and Mac computers for new hires and hardware replacement using automation tools such as Jamf and Intune.
· Manages the Mobile Device Management (MDM) applications (Intune and Jamf)
· Creates and manages system permissions and user accounts.
· Administers IT systems such as the Help Desk, CrashPlan, Spanning, Telephone System, etc.
· Provides the first level of IT support for RAPT’s workforce including C level.
· Supports the department with budgeting and purchasing IT assets.
· Procures computer equipment and software for the Company.
· On- and off-boards of workforce members.
· Maintains inventory of hardware and software resources.
· Monitor and ensure unauthorized or suspicious activity is logged, detected, and responded to appropriately.
· Assists the IT Director in the areas of Information Security, GDPR, FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and SOX compliance programs.
· Continues to learn to maintain awareness of new technology, potential threats, and countermeasures.
· Manages multiple Information Technology projects.
May also include:
- Assist the IT Director in areas of GxP systems, e.g., computer validation, testing, etc.
- Assist the IT Director in reviewing and updating policies and procedures.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for hard to solve issues.
- Develop strong internal relationships with staff members.
- Interfaces with all levels of personnel.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent work experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
· 5+ years of Information Technology experience.
· 5+ years working with Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
· 2+ years of Microsoft Intune and Jamf experience.
· 2+ years of experience working with Windows and Mac operating systems.
· Medium to high network knowledge and experience.
· Self-starter with strong task management skills, able to operate effectively in RAPT’s dynamic, and fast-paced environment.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills to interact with technical and non-technical personnel.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS, DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:
· Working experience in lab environment for biotech or pharmaceutical industries is highly desirable.
· Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, GPOs, FSMO roles, DNS, DHCP, etc.
· Information Security best practices experience.
· Familiarity with one or more of the following frameworks NIST Cybersecurity, ISO 27001/2, SOC 2, etc.
· SOX, and GxP compliance experience is a plus.
· PowerShell scripting.
· Linux administration is a plus.
· Managed Engine Active Directory and Microsoft 365 reporting tools.
· In depth background in IT, e.g., network infrastructure, Active Directory administration, SSO, etc.
· Specialization in Systems Administration, managing, troubleshooting, licensing, and updating hardware and software assets.
· Vulnerability and Patch Management.
· Must be available for all urgent IT issues that could arise.
· Must be willing to work after business hours to support network and systems maintenance routines.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS, VISUAL ACUITY, AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Able to perform occasional physical labor involving lifting weight up to 30 pounds.

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $126,000 (entry-level qualifications) to $143,600 (highly experienced).
