What You'll DoThe Advanced Controller Development (ACD) is part of Samsung's Memory Business Unit, the industry's technology and volume leader in DRAM, NAND Flash. ACD's vision is to solve key problems of Cloud & Data center by developing the new technology for memory and storage. We are an integral part of Samsung's strong R&D focus & lab innovation engine. We work closely with development teams to bring feature innovation to product roadmaps.
We are seeking an experienced SOC Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the infrastructure and systems that support our Silicon on Chip (SOC) design/verification teams. This includes ensuring the security, availability, and performance of our design tools, systems, and networks.
Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose, CA headquarters 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time, and an average of 10% travel per month.

- Design, develop, and maintain the IT infrastructure for our SOC design environments.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and engineers to define and implement IT infrastructure requirements for SOC design.
- Develop and maintain scripts, tools, and methodologies for automating IT infrastructure tasks.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues related to IT infrastructure for SOC design.
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Participate in the development of technical documentation for IT infrastructure.
- Collaborate with external partners to integrate our SOCs into their systems and applications.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the field of SOCs and adapt them to improve our products.
What You Bring- Bachelors with 15+ years of relevant industry experience, or Masters with 13+ years or PhD with 10+ years in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field preferred.
- A minimum 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering with a focus on semiconductor design.
- 8+ years of experience working in SOC or ASIC design environments.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure components such as compute clusters, storage systems, and network architecture.
- Experience with EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tools including:
- Frontend design tools:
- Synopsys tools such as Design Compiler, IC Compiler, and PrimeTime.
- Cadence tools such as Encounter Digital Implementation System, Virtuoso, and Innovus.
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
- Proficiency in version control systems including:
- Perforce (P4): experience with Perforce administration.
- Git: experience with Git workflows.
- Bitbucket: experience with Bitbucket repository management.
