Job Purpose
Document Developer I collaborates with senior team members or works independently to develop simple outputs using selected document generation and template management toolsets. Consults with business owners and other pertinent groups to determine document project requirements and dependencies. Participates in the analysis and design of documents, and may present information and recommendations to internal customers and peers. This is an entry level Output position. Previous knowledge of toolsets not required; training is provided.
Essential Responsibilities
Responsible for development, compliance, documentation, and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training documentation and materials within their domain.
Responsible for identifying supplemental form requirements through collaboration with the Operations, Legal/Compliance, Product Management, Marketing and Product Drafting & State Filing.
Collaborates with team members to understand problems, recommend solutions, escalate production issues, and provide full transparency into current workload.
Demonstrates the ability to activate various risk mitigation recovery plans based on the severity of the issue and the impact on our service level agreements.
Achieves personal goals by meeting or exceeding project timelines, anticipating and communicating potential project risks, applying experience and knowledge to new projects, becoming proficient in pertinent toolsets.
Demonstrates a solid understanding of Jackson business and works collaboratively with peers to identify appropriate stakeholders.
Demonstrates ability to perform data analysis and identify data elements needed to create simplified visuals to drive business decisions.
Demonstrates a functional understanding of user experience, electronic feeds, order entry platforms, industry initiatives, web services, website operations, innovative technologies, and industry workflows.
Responsible for updating/creating supplemental forms and obtaining stakeholder approval.
Understands and troubleshoots downstream impact of implemented development.
Creates or modifies, with senior team member oversight, user-defined forms, illustrations or other types of outward facing correspondence using various output generating toolsets. Toolsets may include: DocuMaker, Adobe, and other vendor provided tools.
Ability to learn and adapt to new and modernized tools.
Acquires and maintains increased knowledge of Exstream and the ability to apply the learning to daily work and support activities.
Updates databases used to process incoming forms.
Modifies data transformation functionality (Extract, Transform, Load).
Builds an understanding and working knowledge of necessary development tools, mainframe commands and navigation, and JCL.
Programming languages/skillsets may include SQL, Visual Basic scripting, DAL scripting, HTML, and XML.
Other Duties
May participate in the evaluation and recommendation of new technologies.
Provides trending and related support for production issues as needed.
Available to provide on-call support after hours and on weekends as necessary.
Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Ability to learn and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Jackson’s business and technology.
Acquires and maintains a working knowledge of Jackson Processes and procedures across various departments.
Working knowledge of existing, new, and emerging technologies in a changing technical environment.
Ability to organize, prioritize, coordinate, and handle multiple tasks and priorities, including appropriate follow up with minimum supervision.
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to learn the Lean and Agile principles, systems, and tools.
Identifies gaps and suggests possible solutions for continuous improvements when appropriate.
Builds familiarity with CQ Tools stack.
Actively increases knowledge in field of expertise as well as seeks and participates in career development opportunities.
Understands and troubleshoots downstream impact of implemented development.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and/or education required.
1+ years of business experience required.
Financial services experience and professional insurance designations preferred.
Experience with Exstream preferred.
