Role Overview
The Supervisor oversees the Commercial Planning, Data Analytics, and Project Management activities within the department. The Supervisor, Logistics Strategy & Analytics (TS&A) will be responsible for managing the timely submissions of bids/RFPs to Korea by coordinating/developing plans with department managers to obtain bid requirements, volumes, and template preparation.
The Supervisor will provide instructions to direct reports to meet bid/RFPs deadlines to insure proper and timely execution of contracts prior to expiration within a defined timeframe and in accordance with company policies. This position will be responsible for contract drafts between carriers, obtaining general legal counsel agreements, and successfully obtaining internal executive approvals. The Supervisor will oversee the data analytics for all budget, forecasting, KPI, and general reporting in the department. In addition, the Supervisor (TS&A) will be responsible for managing all department business-plan initiatives by tracking all tasks using Smart Sheets and conducting regular meetings to assure projects are launched on time. As a highly determined and enthusiastic individual, the Supervisor (TS&A) will focus on multi-department deliverables, setting priorities with the team to achieve department goals, and producing daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance and forecast reports.
Qualifications
Experience:
- 3 - 5 years of Transportation Commercial Planning
- 3-5 years of Data Analytics
- Knowledge of complex transportation strategies including hub and spoke, unattended dedicated delivery services, transportation contract negotiations, as well as data analytics representing transportation volumes and spend.
- Experience in Project Management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of principles, concepts, practices and standards related to parts transportation system information management.
- Ability to prepare statistical analysis according to established forecasting methodologies using associated system software and information.
- Hazmat Certification is preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiates all transportation bids/RFPs within the timelines required for each mode of transportation or transportation strategy.
- Determines business requirements, based on operational needs; reviews all bid requirements with department managers for any new business needs/changes.
- Monitors progress from the team to pull data and confirms accuracy in collaboration with operations teams; organizes data in accordance with the commercial bid requirements/market studies and Korea SCM Templates.
- Schedules regular meetings with Korea to review bid requests and carrier proposals to gain alignment in direction and comprehension of the results
- Reviews and analyzes proposals, along with department management. Provides weekly feedback to Korea SCM.
- Creates carrier contract templates for each strategy/mode of transportation. Work with Legal departments and Head of Department to prepare final draft versions of contracts for executive review and approval.
- Oversees the contract approval process including the creation of the executive summary page and monitoring of approvals via systematic approval process, as well as the routing of contracts for eSignatures using DocuSign.
- Develops team SOPs and reporting tools for tracking of bid status/projects.
- Interfaces with department managers/analysts to obtain bid requirements/volumes, as well as review of budget spend KPIs and reporting.
- Determines budget forecasting based on expenditure trends, contract terms, and operational feedback.
- Responsible for department accruals monthly.
- Calculates KPIs and reports performance weekly/monthly.
- Insures data is maintained in new and existing Access Databases. Works with Department Freight Payment team to improve accuracy of payment data provided by 3rd party freight payment provider.
- Prioritizes data analytics team activities based on the direction given by Head of Department.
- Other duties as assigned.
