Job Description & Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Head of AI to join our team. You will lead a team of machine learning engineers to advance Atomic’s AI vision, focusing on delivering a competitive advantage and developing solutions that will help consumers save millions of dollars each year.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead, grow, and coach a team of machine learning engineers by setting clear goals, providing regular feedback, and facilitating professional development opportunities.
- You’ll work with our team to design and build an LLM routing architecture to power the AI action layer of financial services.
- Promote a culture of open communication and teamwork, enabling the engineers to thrive and achieve their full potential.
- Identify key areas where AI can provide competitive advantages and become an integral part of Atomic’s product offerings. Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to incorporate AI into both existing and new products, prioritizing rapid production releases to facilitate continuous learning and iteration.
- Develop and implement the comprehensive plan for data analytics across the organization.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, evaluate their potential impact on the organization, and integrate relevant innovations into the company’s projects.
- Ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of these solutions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience across machine learning, data engineering, data science, and AI and engineering with a proven track record of delivering successful AI/ML projects.
- 3+ years in leadership roles across machine learning and engineering.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to break down the development of products and features into manageable, iterative releases.
- Demonstrated strength in keeping the team focused on the most important customer and business challenges
- Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, machine learning frameworks, generative AI technologies, LLM applications, neural networks, and deep learning techniques.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services (ie: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Strong understanding of data architecture, data governance, and data security best practices.
- Experience in big data technologies (ie: Redshift, S3, Databricks, Datalakes, Spark).
- Working experience with a tool such as Looker/Tableau/Amplitude/CoreMetrics.
