The OpportunityAs a dedicated AVP, HR Shared Services, you will be accountable for providing executive leadership and strategic direction on the design, refinement, and integration of programs and processes that support both HR and the Enterprise, ensuring efficient, scalable, and high-quality service delivery. This executive leader works collaboratively with all levels of the HR Center of Excellences (COEs), senior level executives, and key partner organizations; designing, implementing, and improving HR programs and processes while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and labor regulations.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be
in the office 4 days per week. This position is based in San Antonio, TX.

What you'll do:- Leads a team of HR professionals in developing and executing the HR shared services strategy in alignment with the HR strategy and business goals
- Serves as a key HR leader, ensuring alignment with the HR COEs, and HR Leadership Team to develop solutions that enhance HR service delivery
- Focuses on delivering programs that improve the employee experience & ensures timely issue resolution
- Oversees the team responsible for first-line leader consultations, performance management, and other HR program initiatives that engage with the business
- Drive transformation initiatives to enhance HR service delivery, influencing the adoption of innovative HR practices, process improvements, and technology to enhance efficiency
- Ensures a data-driven approach to assess HR program effectiveness and recommend enhancements
- Oversees programs related to HR data accuracy, security, and compliance with global data privacy regulations
- Oversees HR audits, risk assessments, and compliance reporting, proactively addressing potential risks
- Ensures alignment with legal and compliance teams to stay updated on evolving labor regulations and implement necessary changes
- Proactively innovates on HR program development, workload prioritization, and financial and operational planning
- Builds, develops, and leads a team of individual contributors and managers through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, coaching and support, performance management, and managerial activities to ensure individual and team effectiveness
What you have:- Bachelor's degree; 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree
- 10 years of diverse experiences within Human Resources or general business operations in driving organizational strategies and initiatives that optimize processes, systems, and programs, resulting in increased productivity and overall employee experience
- 4 years of people leadership experience in building, managing, and/or developing high-performing teams
- Experience leading the implementation of HR program, projects, and initiatives and developing tactical plans which promote change while delivering desired business results
- Advanced understanding and knowledge of an HR organization to include various functions and practices, applicable laws, rules, and regulations
- Demonstrated ability to independently navigate ambiguity, drive clarity, identify conflicts, and negotiate and influence solutions in a fast-paced global matrix organization
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to surface insights, lead creative planning, drive innovative thinking and solutions, and influence decision-making
- High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing projects and priorities simultaneously, as well as strong delegation, collaboration, and decision-making skills
- Ability to interact easily with all levels within the organization and experience facilitating executive level conversations, driving clear decisions
What sets you apart:- Prior experience leading an HR shared services function in a large financial services or insurance institution
- US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
Salary Range: $195,230 - $351,410Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

Long Term Incentive Plan: Cash payment for Executive level roles only, representing a cash payment which is both time and performance based.
