Sandy Spring Bank is hiring for a Talent Development Manager. The Talent Development Manager works with members of the HR team to support the assessment of talent development needs and build action plans that align with the organization’s mission, vision and values. Priorities include refining the performance management program, developing succession plans, leadership development, mentoring, career pathing, and internal talent mobility. The Talent Development Manager will play an important role in facilitating change management for teams, business partners, companywide culture, and strategic initiatives.
MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Improve organizational effectiveness through the development and effective execution of solutions to improve leadership capabilities, create a culture of performance, engagement, and development.
- Utilize data, metrics, and insights to assess the health of the talent pipeline and determine effectiveness of talent management initiatives.
- Partner with HR Business Partners and Compensation and Benefits to effectively link performance and rewards processes to reinforce a culture of performance and development.
- Define and implement strategies and approaches to identify, assess, and develop current and potential leaders.
- Develop engaging and innovative talent and leadership development programs.
- Support the evolving needs of the business by designing and leading change management efforts aligned with the organizational change strategy.
- Coach and advise business partners and leaders on organization development related topics.
- Contribute to team efforts to capture and share standards, best practices, external benchmarks, and innovative practices related to culture, change management, team effectiveness, strategy operationalization, organizational design.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners to ensure that talent and performance management processes including goal setting, performance management, development plans, succession planning, and organizational review are well executed.
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years experience in Talent Management or Organizational Development
- Demonstrated talent management expertise including key talent development and workforce planning
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Experience in several of the following areas:
- Executing Succession Planning
- Change Management initiatives
- Coaching and delivering 360 assessment feedback
- Performance management
- Leadership Development
SPECIFIC PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work requires reasonable mobility in and around the work area. Ability to use standard computer and phone systems is required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Normal office environment where there is almost no discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, or other disagreeable elements.
- Work includes little or no potential exposure to hazardous conditions.
- Must be able to travel throughout SSB footprint as needed.
