The Leave Coordinator is expected to manage, administer, and track leaves of absence. The Leave Coordinator will be expected to process and track all claim requests within the guidelines of legislative and company sponsored Leaves of Absence policies, to ensure compliance with all federal and state laws. The Leave Coordinator will work as a direct contact with employees and managers on any leave issues.
Responsibilities*This is a remote opportunity
- Manage the leave administration process from the employee’s initial claim filing notice for leave to the employee’s return to work date. This would include but is not limited to obtaining and completing required paperwork, determining eligibility for leave, designating leave, requesting medical documentation as required, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use.
- Work with the STD Claim Coordinators and Human Resources to monitor leaves and provide regular status reports as well as resolve any complex issue that arises during the lifespan of a leave.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.
- Communicate and work with a variety of internal and external sources to achieve timely return to work date and prompt resolution of the claim.
- Prepare and mail leave notices (e.g., FMLA leave notices) as required to employees requesting leave.
- Create and maintain an activity file containing required documentation for leave of absence.
- Ensure timely processing of claims, monitor and track leave of absences, and follow up on required paperwork such as medical certifications, requests for extended leaves, and other required information.
- Respond to inquiries from employees and reply to questions and resolve routine concerns.
- Perform other related duties and activities as required.

Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelors)
- Extensive knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- One year experience with disability/leave of absence claims preferred.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee information and adhere to strict data privacy standards.
- Comfortable working in a high-energy, quickly changing and demanding environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
