Overview
The HR Business Partner II specializing in onboarding, employee relations, and compliance will be responsible for ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new hires, fostering positive employee relations, and maintaining compliance with immigration laws and regulations. This role is suited for individuals with a strong foundation in HR practices, including knowledge of local and state employment laws, and at least five years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Onboarding
- Coordinate and oversee the onboarding process for new employees, including orientation sessions, paperwork completion, and introduction to company policies and culture.
- Collaborate with hiring managers and department heads to ensure a comprehensive onboarding experience that aligns with organizational goals and values.
- Manage the I-9 verification process for new hires, ensuring accurate and timely completion of required documentation.
- Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis.
- Coordinate and ensure completion of various trainings and orientations.
Employee Relations
- Investigates employee relations issues, complaints, grievances and conflicts in the workplace including appropriate documentation and follow-up. Guides employees and makes recommendations for resolution to management.
- Prepare contracts, letters, and announcements and maintain employee files to ensure data accuracy in various systems.
- Handle termination-related matters and prepare termination and severance letters.
Legal Compliance
- Stay up to date on local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations, ensuring compliance in all HR practices and procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to HR team members and management staff on relevant legal requirements and best practices.
- Assist employees with questions and concerns regarding visa processes, work authorization, and immigration status.
- Stay informed about immigration laws and regulations, including visa requirements and sponsorship processes, and provide guidance to employees and management as needed.
- Execute Talent strategies within their business unit while analyzing and providing feedback on the strategy results locally.
Policy & Process Management
- Assist in the development and implementation of employee policies and procedures.
- Championing a healthy and safe working environment by recommending and implementing approved strategies and meeting government regulations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in onboarding and employee relations practices, contributing to the overall effectiveness of HR operations.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in HR or related field or equivalent experience.
- 3 - 5 years as an HR Generalist.
- HR designation a plus.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office 365.
- Experience with HRIS systems.
- Strong Knowledge of Federal and State-specific labor regulations and laws.
