Key Responsibilities:
Review & Develop Options for Customer Quote Requests
·Potential customers inquire about our motor offerings by filling out the request for quote (RFQ) form on our website. With this customer provided information, we use proprietary internal tools to quickly offer customers the correct motors for their application. This process will allow you to filter through our expansive 600+ motor portfolio. One of your first responsibilities will be to analyse current electric motor software design packages available in the market and do a cost benefit analysis on using versus our current proprietary internal tools. (Ansys Maxwell, Jmag, Altair Fluxmotor, MotorXP, Motorsolve, ….ect)
·Work with the software team to improve existing calculation tools and develop new calculation tools.
·Release Specialty Motors to Production as needed.
·When a specialty motor starts to get enough sales volume, that motor is released from engineering to be manufactured by the production lines. Learn and follow the established standard operating procedure (SOP) to facilitate this transition. This includes creating new motor model numbers and component part numbers, creating new AutoCAD drawing files, and informing all other affected departments of the changes.
·Obtain a competitor’s motor outline print and performance specs and be able to design our replacement motor. If needed, obtain a motor for in house analysis and testing.
Assist Customers with Technical Issues
·Provide assistance to current customers that are experiencing technical issues with our products. This may entail troubleshooting a defective motor or working with a customer to achieve a more desirable performance.
·Maintain Motor Print & Performance Data
·Ensure all prints are current and up to date. Make any revisions or updates as needed.
·Ensure all databases, which store motor performance info, are current & up to date.
·Golf Car Market Product Line Expansion Review (too include AC Motor & Controller Testing)
·Facilitate Plantwide Product Quality
·Work with production team to ensure product quality. Communicate with production staff and management to ensure supplier material/part compliance with our prints. Our product quality can be highly impacted by the quality of the parts we use. Interact with suppliers to rectify part compliance issues. Since we have an excellent supplier base and many redundant suppliers, this responsibility requires minimal effort.
·Analyze Potential Aftermarket Product Line Enhancements
·Develop & work on projects to improve our motor efficiencies. This could be done by reviewing the design, the components/materials being used, and/or working with our customers to improve their overall system designs.
Market Research and Business Development
·Priority is to review and get revenues from the Pump motor market segment. Review the market segment and develop an action plan to execute to achieve maximum short-term revenue growth.
·Explore other motor application markets for business growth initiatives. A large focus here will be the addition of AC motor and controllers to our product line.
