Salt and Tart is a quick service restaurant in Santa Monica looking for an experienced Line Cook. Someone who is fast, clean, organized and responsible.
Responsibilities
• Prepare food for service
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Answer, report and follow Executive Chef’s instructions
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure that food comes of high quality and in a timely fashion
• Prepare food in compliance with health and safety standards
• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Skills
• Proven cooking experience, including 2 years prior experience as a line cook, restaurant cook or prep cook
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
• Practices correct food handling and food storage procedures according to company and state regulations.
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
• Willingness to learn and be open minded
