Job Summary:
Leads all medical related activities within a designated area. Provides strategic and operational direction for the delivery of Adventist Health's clinical care model and will work in close partnership with key clinical and operational leaders to ensure the highest level of patient safety and care.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in health care related field: Required
- Master's Degree in public health, healthcare administration or related discipline: Preferred
- Fifteen years' of progressively responsible management experience in a within healthcare system or complex hospital environment: Preferred
- Ten years' experience as a practicing physician in hospital medicine, primary care or specialty medicine: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD): Required
- Board Certified Physician: Required
- State medical board licensed: Required
- Medical license MD (MD) or Medical license DO (DO) or Physician and Surgeon C (PSC) or Physician and Surgeon A (MDA) or Physician and Surgeon G (PSG): Required
Essential Functions:
- Leads and implements Adventist Health's clinical care model and oversees the care delivery division medical activities. Manages effective care delivery by creating alignment between physicians and clinicians across all service lines to improve quality, experience and value. Drives top decile performance in quality and patient experience for the division.
- Oversees and implements a broad range of strategic initiatives in areas such as clinical quality, performance improvement, patient safety and experience, clinical program development and medical staff relations.
- Collaborates with leaders across the system to develop and implement innovative approaches to care delivery. Brings different specialties and groups together to solve complex care delivery challenges and promote best practices.
- Acts as a key advisor to executive leadership on the development of overall policy and long-term goals to achieve clinical excellence and financial stewardship.
- Ensures appropriate operational and administrative planning that enhances the quality of care and the financial results necessary to achieve organizational goals. Develops and maintains assigned budgets; manages staffing and expense priorities.
