EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Any combination equivalent to:
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, business administration or a related field, AND
- Experience: Four years of increasingly responsible professional experience in accounting and auditing with broad exposure to budgeting and school district accounting, including two years supervising and evaluating the work of accounting staff.
Comments and Other InformationTHE POSITION The Business Facilities and Operations Division is now accepting applications for Manager - Accounting Services.
Under the direction of assigned supervisor, the Manager - Accounting Services is responsible for accounting and budget analysis and review related to revenues and expenditures; evaluates financial data for assigned special programs and grants; approves, monitors, updates, and reconciles fiscal information in compliance with established policies and procedures; assists with audit process; supervises and evaluates the performance of assigned personnel.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a high level of proficiency in accounting and budget analysis for assigned special programs and grants. Strong leadership, communication, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities are required for success in this role. Experience in governmental agency and school accounting is preferred. This position is full-time, in-person and has a work year of 12 months, 5 days, 8 hours per day.
Leadership team members are eligible to receive a $2,500 annual stipend for a master's degree and a $2,500 additional stipend for a doctorate, provide official documentation is submitted.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURES - Assessments and interviews will take place virtually or in-person.
- Following the final filing date, the qualifications of all candidates will be evaluated.
- The most qualified candidates will be invited to participate in a written exam, tentatively scheduled for November 7, 2024.
- Those who pass the written exam will be invited to participate in an oral examination with subject matter experts, tentatively scheduled for November 19, 2024.
- Based on the final scores of qualified candidates, Classified Personnel Services will establish a ranked candidate list.
- Selected candidates from the list will be invited to a second interview with the hiring authorities, tentatively scheduled for Monday, November 25.
- Second interviews may be held in-person.
