Provides prompt claim investigation, evaluation and settlement or denial of claims with minor to severe exposures. Provides empathy and understanding and explains policy coverages and claims processes to customers. Authorizes payments in accordance with assigned authority limit. Documents claim files with all pertinent information and disposition. Responsible for handling claims having moderately complex negligence, compensability, damage and coverage issues, such as bodily injury. May include handling low complexity litigation in some claims niches.
What You’ll Do:
As a Claims Representative on our Workers’ Compensation team, you’ll have the opportunity to establish a solid foundation with Sentry by conducting the following duties:
Analyze claims, set reserves, determine compensability, pay benefits, and settle claims with established dollar authority
Develop and manage workers' compensation claims action plans to a resolution, coordinate return-to-work efforts, and approve claim payments
Manage claims of medium exposure and complexity
Prepare claims for settlement and negotiate a settlement with the best outcome
Manage and direct all cases to closure in the most efficient and effective way possible
Communicate claim action and processing with claimant and client in a professional and timely manner
What it Takes:
Bachelors Degree or related work experience
1+ years experience of related work experience
Posses analytical abilities to review, exercise judgment, and evaluate claims to make sound decisions.
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to review and interpret complex and detailed documents such as contracts, medical reports, and insurance regulations
Computer skills, some medical knowledge, and prior insurance experience beneficial
Ability to obtain and maintain state adjuster licenses as required
