Manager, Claims
American National is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Claims Manager to join our dynamic Commercial Property team. If you are passionate about leading a team and driving results, this may be the role for you. You will oversee daily business operations (Interviews, onboarding, performance counsel, and ensure deadlines/goals are discussed and achieved). To thrive in this role, you will have technical skills in commercial/agriculture property claims adjusting, demonstrated ability to lead team(s) in both a virtual/onsite structure, and lead by example. This position will require you to work on-site at either our Springfield, MO or Glenmont, NY office.
What You'll Do
• Manage team adjusting activities, training programs, business proposals, technical results, quality, vendor management, and procurement.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and ongoing training regarding technical claims issues, while also responding to client concerns.
• Partner with employees to discuss and create developmental plans for heightened progress.
• Oversee and operate within an allocated budget.
• Prepare and submit reports to leadership teams.
• Conduct quality reviews on claim files (Adhering to the 21-day review business standard) to ensure compliance with company guidelines and state laws/regulations.
• Review and approve settlement authority.
• Safeguard prompt reserving within company guidelines.
• Partner with leadership team(s) to support open communication that is focused on increasing/enhancing productivity, improving workflow processes, and maintaining positive morale.
• Guarantee that team members provide prompt, accurate, and equitable claims service.
What You'll Need
• Property claims adjusting experience (Commercial and/or Agriculture lines)
• Experience in an industry leadership position is preferred; however, the business will also consider candidates who are actively involved in internal leadership courses, mentorship programs, or actively pursuing supervisory positions as part of your personal development plan.
• Effective project management skills.
• Xactimate or a similar estimating platform knowledge (Ability to create/review estimates)
• Currently hold an appropriate state adjuster license or obtain following date of hire (No out of pocket expenses)
• Farm or business knowledge is preferred, but not required.
Salary for this position can range from $80,000 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $102,000 for more highly qualified candidates. Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill and education.
