Job DescriptionThe Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for creating month end financial statements and associated reporting and formatting them for Corporate submission. This position is responsible for running reports, compiling data, and performing analysis for quarterly and annual audits, both internal and external. This position will assist with external regulatory filings, including DMHC and Health Plans and monthly reporting for JOC meetings with various hospital partners. Responsible for other general accounting duties as assigned.
Responsibilities- On an as needed basis, generate month end reports. Compile financial data for Prospect and Promed in Corporate format. Perform variance analysis for any significant or material items on the income statement and balance sheet.
- Preparation of monthly reports as needed for managed business, including cash flow statements for owned and managed entities. Regular monitoring of accounts receivable balances to ensure accounts remain current and advise Accounting Manager and Controller of any delinquencies.
- Assist with quarterly and annual audit by running reports (JE listings, TB's, GL Detail, etc), preparing variance analysis as requested, and preparing new and existing audit schedules as assigned. Prepare monthly and quarterly roll forward and SEC reporting schedules as required by Corporate.

- Update IBNR templates and prepare initial reserve calculation for review and approval.
- Monthly accounting for full risk contracts including all journal entries and reporting. Will be back-up for claims check run processing as needed.
- Serve as backup for Capitation processing: including cap deductions, flat capitation payments, monthly capitation compile, posting, and analysis, statements, and printing of checks by the assigned deadlines, assist with 1099 balancing and processing, and other duties as assigned.
QualificationsMinimum Education: BS degree or equivalent work experience in accounting or finance preferably in a healthcare or IPA/MSO environment.
Minimum Experience: Two to four (2-4) years accounting experience of staff accountant or equivalent that includes the duties listed above. Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; Renovo or BizNet report writing software, MAS-200 and FAS! Best software preferred. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience with IDX and Microsoft Access preferred.
