Under the general direction and supervision of Facilities and Compliance Manager, the substitute custodian is responsible for maintaining offices and surrounding facilities in clean and orderly condition to ensure these meet health and safety standards. Substitute custodians will use a variety of cleaning materials, power equipment and specific tools. Substitute custodians work on an as needed basis (on-call); days, hours and location vary.

SOME POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSABILITIES ARE:
Clean classrooms, restrooms, offices, lunchrooms, hallways. Sanitize surfaces such as toilets, tables, sinks, counter, etc., and/or as instructed by supervisor.
Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, classrooms, stairs, restrooms, and office space; cleans furniture and fixtures; washes walls, windows, doors and equipment.
Empties trash and garbage containers.
Clean/sweep parking lots, walkways and play yard including sandbox to ensure they are free of debris.
Operates equipment in accordance with safety instructions.
Mixes chemicals following instructions regarding use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed.
Notifies supervisor concerning hazardous conditions or repairs needed in facilities or equipment.
Assist with setup of facilities for meetings, conferences, events, etc.
Orders supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. Safely stocks supplies and monitors its usage.
Attend to emergencies when necessary.
Responds positively to request for assistance from staff and others.
Support and enforce agency policies, OSHA rules, health and safety regulations and guidelines, etc.
Ability to travel from one campus to another, flexible to schedule changes (days, hours and locations).
