We're looking for an experienced Manager of Global Payroll Operations to join our Payroll team. You will support with employees and partners, resolve employee payroll questions, assist with audits and compliance, and lead new payroll projects and global expansion. You will build a payroll operations team to support Zscaler's global payroll organization.
We prefer for this role to be based onsite in our headquarters in San Jose, CA (3x a week) but will consider remote California. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Global Payroll, you'll be responsible for:
- Manage the payroll ticketing system, ensuring the resolution of employee matters. Monitor response times and ticket resolution/closure.
- Build payroll training and guides for Zscaler employees, highlighting important information and overviews of payroll systems. Review and resolve SAP SuccessFactors and Ceridian Dayforce integration incidents.
- Support payroll expansion by ensuring in-country payroll tax and compliance registrations are completed at the target go-live date. Partner with International Payroll and People & Culture (HR) to establish new payroll locations.
- Manage US state and local payroll tax compliance for new hires, rehires, and transfers. Ensure employees' pay profiles reflect the appropriate tax jurisdiction. Register Zscaler and obtain necessary payroll tax IDs for accurate payroll taxation. Ensure reporting and payment of withholding taxes to relevant agencies.
- Collaborate with People and Culture (HR) for payroll-related matters such as new hires, terminations, rehires, transfers, and change of status. Collaborate with Payroll Processing and Payroll Accounting managers to maintain SOX compliance and update internal control narratives.
What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- 5+ years of managing Payroll operations at a publicly traded SaaS company
- Experience managing a team of direct reports, including international employees
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience with software packages SAP SuccessFactors, ADP WFN, Ceridian Dayforce, NetSuite, and Workday
- Solid knowledge of applicable global wage and hour laws

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.
Base Pay Range$112,000—$160,000 USD
