Stanley’s Wet Goods is a Culver City bottle shop + wine bar that features ~600 small production wines with a focus on great farming practices and simple winemaking, a full lineup of craft spirits, beers, and other great drinks of the world. Our wine bar offers a robust list of 20 wines, rotating beer taps and coffee program with an all-day + evening food menu to boot. Our mission is to offer exceptional experiences for our guests, and engage them with the drinks and stories of the small producers that we represent. We’re seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Operations and Inventory Specialist to join our team and play a key role in ensuring smooth operations and efficient inventory management, with some support on the retail floor assisting guests as well.

Job Summary:
As the Operations and Inventory Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing our stock configuration for both in-store and online shopping, receiving and stocking incoming inventory, and supporting key aspects of our general operations that enable our entire team to focus on the work that makes us a respected destination for drink enthusiasts of Los Angeles. You will work closely with our Founder & General Manager, Beverage Director, and Operations Director, and support them with regular and timely reporting, along with other duties to keep the business running smoothly. Your role will also include maintaining an organized backroom, coordinating orders, and ensuring our space is well-stocked and ready for customer enjoyment.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management: Receive and stock incoming inventory; conduct regular inventory counts to minimize loss and ensure accuracy.
Technology Implementation: Be a lead resource for control and configuration of various technology platforms including our on-site point-of-sale systems.
Supplier Coordination: Track accounts payable and communicate with vendors regarding outgoing payments.
Product Placement & Display: Collaborate with the team to ensure optimal product placement, creating appealing displays that encourage sales.
Operational Support: Aid in the day-to-day operations, including opening duties, ordering and stocking of supplies, and ensuring that the environment is welcoming and organized.
Sales Analysis: Perform daily and weekly internal reporting tasks to aid in inventory purchasing decisions, monitor cash flow, and track sales and profitability.
Loss Prevention: Implement procedures to minimize product loss and improve security.
Customer Service: Occasionally assist customers with product inquiries and purchases, providing excellent service and product knowledge.
Requirements:
Proven experience in inventory management, retail operations, or a related field; wine and spirits industry experience is a plus.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to efficiently perform tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with inventory software or retail management systems.
A collaborative spirit and commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Ability to lift and move cases of wine and spirits as necessary.
Passion for wine, spirits, and hospitality, with a willingness to learn about new products and trends.
