OverviewJoin our expanding interdisciplinary team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic! Signet Health manages our behavioral health services, offering evidence-based care to those in the District of Columbia and surrounding areas. Our comprehensive programs include brief therapy, group therapy, addiction services, medication management, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), co-occurring treatment for adults and more.
We are seeking a
full-time Therapist (On-Site) to lead initial psychosocial evaluations within our outpatient behavioral health program. This role will focus on conducting comprehensive assessments, establishing initial diagnostics, and facilitating patient referrals to appropriate clinical services, such as brief individual therapy, medication management, PHP, IOP, mental health group therapy, or addiction support. This role is on-site, with a typical schedule being Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. Licensure in the District of Columbia is required (Psychologist, LICSW or LPC).
Requirements/Qualifications- Conduct comprehensive clinical-psychosocial intake assessments, providing accurate diagnoses based on the DSM-5 or other relevant diagnostic manuals.
- Initiate and facilitate patients towards the appropriate levels of care and treatment pathways based on initial clinical findings and patient goals.
- Collaborate with treatment team and care coordinator to ensure appropriate referrals and services. This could entail brief individual therapy, medication management, PHP, IOP, group therapy, addiction recovery services or external referrals as appropriate.
- Collaborate with direct multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals, and work with peers throughout the Medstar Health Network, as well as with community providers.
- Ensure compliant, high quality, and timely documentation within our electronic medical record system.
- Present cases and participate in clinical discussions with the team and leadership to support professional development.
- Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and supervision sessions for operational and administrative discussions to support the clinic culture, key priorities outlined by leadership and ensure successful outcomes and service line goals.
- Collaborate direct supervisor and peers to suggest processes improvements related to patient flow.
- Maintain required district and state licensure and take advantage of the many resources offered around additional professional and clinical development.
- Assist with clinical coverage is needed for other program services as requested from leadership. This may include coverage for other services offered within the clinic.
- Participate in initial assessment metric collection and strategic planning with leadership and business development.
- Perform additional duties relevant to the position and program needs.
Qualifications:- Active licensure as a LICSW, LPC or Psychologist in the District of Columbia.
- At least three years of clinical/addiction experience in outpatient behavioral health is preferred.
- Strong clinical and diagnostic assessment skills.
- Excellent multitasking, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships within a team setting and be solution focused.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and prioritize direction in a positive culture.
- Highly organized, autonomous, and skilled in time management to complete assigned tasks.
- Must have strong typing and office based computer skills, including Outlook email/chats and Microsoft.
