What You’ll Do:
In the Electric Propulsion Systems role you will be responsible for solving complex cross-functional issues with Archer’s Electric Engine, Propeller, and Tilt systems. You will be expected to be familiar with the technical details of each sub-system, and contribute to cross-system optimization efforts. Additionally, you will be responsible for management, execution, and delivery of specific functions and deliverables that span each sub-system. This includes: health monitoring, maintenance protocols, reliability allocation, test strategies, test planning, and test data and root cause investigations. You will work daily with techincal experts across electric engine, propeller, and tilt mechanism. Additional responsibilities include:
- Create and populate requirements
- Create and present trade study information for cross functional leadership buy-off
- Holistic ownership of cross-functional deliverables, including technical program planning, interfacing with and soliciting effort from internal stakeholders and contributors, and vendor engagements as necessary
- Create test plans to ensure verification of requirements
- Manage cross functional interface requirements
- Hands-on teardown and inspection of test articles
- CAD (NX) manipulation of designs
What You Need:
- BS Degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, physics, or similar
- Minimum of 10 years of Design Engineering experience
- Hands on experience with hardware builds and teardowns
- Experience in EVTOL powertrain space
- Ability to organize and lead cross-functional efforts
- Experience with root cause and/or problem solving methodologies (8D, 5 whys, etc)
- Strong data analysis, modeling, and optimization capabilities - MATLAB preferred
- Ability to travel domestically
- Strong presentation skills
Bonus Qualifications:
- Aerospace and/or automotive development experience
- Experience designing fixtures, procuring parts, and assembling test setups

At Archer we aim to attract, retain, and motivate talent that possess the skills and leadership necessary to grow our business. We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $164,000 - $205,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
