Partnership with Children provides critical counseling, school-wide services, and family and community outreach in high-poverty, New York City public schools so students can reach their full potential. The ideal Family Outreach Coordinator is a self-starter, who is committed to empowering students and families. The Family Outreach Coordinator will be based in an NYC Public School and report to a Community School Director.
- Responsibilities:Support school attendance improvement initiatives by providing outreach to students and families, including regular home visits
- Develop strong rapport with students to empower them to achieve attendance and academic goals, and engage families in the process
- Collaborate with school support staff, including parent coordinator, attendance teachers, and outreach workers, to develop strategies to increase student attendance
- Advise the Social Work Director on any case management needs that students and families have, and escort students and families to appointments as needed
- Participate on the school attendance team and manage attendance data
- Assist in planning, organizing, and facilitating workshops and events for students and families
- Other duties as assigned

- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field preferred
- Passion for and experience working in high-needs communities
- Experience working in a school-setting preferred
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment, flexible, organized and can-do attitude
- Experience with community outreach and home visits
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual (Spanish) required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Google Docs and Dropbox
- Must be able to pass criminal background check and clearance by NYC Department of Education
Hours:
- Full-time (8 am - 4 pm, Mon - Fri) with occasional weeknight and Saturday hours
- Year-round position (summer location and duties will vary)
- This is a school-based, in-person position
Salary and Benefits:
$45 k - $50k annually, commensurate with experience. All full-time employees receive an excellent benefits package including health and dental insurance, a 401k pension plan, life insurance, and twenty four days paid annual leave per year.
