Burgess & Niple is looking for a Civil Engineer to join our team in Dallas, TX to work with other engineers, project managers, and technical staff in the production of plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates for municipal transportation and utility infrastructure projects.
B&N Civil Engineer Responsibilities
- Actively participate in municipal transportation and utility engineering projects for public agencies, counties, and municipalities
- Create an exemplary client experience throughout the project delivery
- Maintain quality control of the work products and successfully complete projects on time and within budget
- Collaborate with other leaders throughout the firm on project pursuits and technical challenges
- Opportunity to provide training, coaching, and mentoring for developing staff
- Opportunity to develop project management skills including monitoring relevant performance indicators, budgets, and schedules
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
- Texas PE registration, or ability to obtain through reciprocity within 6 months of hire
- 5+ years of related engineering experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Civil 3D and/or Microstation/Open Roads Designer required
- Experience developing plan sets for municipal infrastructure projects
- Ability to take verbal direction and implement into drawings and calculations to produce the final work
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team environment
- Self-motivated and adaptable to evolving client, project, and industry needs
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills
