UCT is seeking a seasoned Senior Director of Quality Assurance to lead our quality assurance strategies across multiple sites in the United States. This role requires a strategic leader with a proven track record in managing multi-site quality assurance systems and a deep commitment to continuous quality improvement. As a key member of our executive team, you will ensure that all products and processes meet rigorous company, customers, and regulatory standards, drive quality initiatives, and foster a culture of excellence across all operations and support functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership and Quality System Oversight:
- Develop and implement comprehensive quality strategies and programs across multiple locations, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
- Lead regional quality assurance teams, providing direction and support to ensure consistency and compliance with all quality standards.
- Quality Systems Management:
- Oversee the management and enhancement of all quality systems and processes, including quality control, quality assurance, and quality improvement.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust quality assurance processes and procedures.
- Ensure systems are in place for collecting, analyzing, and acting on quality metrics and performance data across all sites.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the effectiveness of quality initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
- Problem-solving and Critical Thinking:
- Apply advanced problem-solving skills and critical thinking to identify root causes of issues and implement strategic solutions that result in systemic improvements.
- Champion initiatives that enhance operational excellence and quality outputs.
- Expertise in Lean Six Sigma and 8D Principles:
- Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies to streamline quality processes and reduce variability in product/process quality.
- Implement and advocate for the 8D problem-solving approach to effectively address and eliminate quality issues, fostering a robust culture of continuous improvement.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Champion continuous improvement by driving initiatives to streamline processes, optimize resources, and enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness at all sites.
- Implement best practices in quality management and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the quality assurance teams.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to identify trends, root causes of quality issues, and opportunities for preventive action.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proven ability to develop and lead quality strategies and teams in a complex matrix organization, multi-site environment.
- Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of how to interpret and utilize quality metrics and data effectively.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of motivating and leading teams across various locations.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and influence cross-functional teams.
Educational/Certification Requirement:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Additional certifications/education in Quality Management or Business Administration is a plus.,
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with strong proficiency in 8D problem-solving methods.
Experience Requirement:
Work Experience:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in quality assurance roles, including significant leadership experience overseeing multi-site operations.
Travel Requirement:
- 20% travel within the region is required.
