Overview
Position Summary:
Direct the operations of the Facilities Department to support buildings, grounds, equipment, and shared facility infrastructure systems; manage all local, state, and federal requirements relative to plant operations. Direct the plant engineering staff in support of plant and Company objectives.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
- Facility Maintenance and Management: Oversee the maintenance and repair of all buildings, grounds, and facility infrastructure through both internal and outsourced labor. Supervise the Facilities Team Leader in these activities.
- Capital Improvements: Identify, justify, and implement capital improvements to buildings, infrastructure, grounds, and equipment.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure production equipment, including spare parts, is maintained to meet business demands. Monitor equipment maintenance trends and failures, implementing improvements to enhance reliability and performance.
- Preventive Maintenance: Oversee the content and execution of the preventive maintenance program to ensure operational efficiency.
- Security and Safety: Ensure building security is sufficient to maintain a safe working environment.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage the annual Operating Plan and Reforecast for areas of responsibility, ensuring adherence to budget and financial forecasts.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all company policies, ISO certifications, and local, state, and federal regulations. Operating in a regulated industry (FDA).
- Project Management: Lead key engineering projects in alignment with company and plant objectives.
- Calibration Program Administration: Administer the plant-wide calibration program to maintain equipment accuracy.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to setting plant-wide project priorities and resource allocation plans. Develop and track plant capital and cost reduction goals.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Facilitate interdisciplinary projects to meet strategic company goals, including materials management, manufacturing transfer, quality control, and cost reduction.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise professional staff, conduct performance appraisals, and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Leadership: Exemplify commitment to company and plant objectives, fostering high morale and teamwork among subordinates and peers.

Networking/Key Relationships:
- Interface with external agencies and regulatory bodies to manage permitting where needed
- Familiar with key leadership within the Rockland Business Association and town leadership
- May work with state agencies concerning funding for energy incentives and/or growth incentives and rebates
- Networks with counterparts in Werfen North America, implements facility standards where applicable

- Strong mechanical aptitude, equipment maintenance and repair skills

- Knowledge of spare parts planning and procurement

- Process equipment validation methodology
Qualifications
Min Knowledge & Experience for the Position:
- BS in Engineering Discipline or equivalent
- Seven years minimum experience engineering management, operations management, facilities management, or project management disciplines.
- Proficiency with computers, including spreadsheet, database, and word processing programs.
- SAP experience a plus
Travel Requirements:
The annual salary range Werfen reasonably expects to pay for the position is $100,000 to $130,000. Compensation is reasonably based upon multiple factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and specific needs of the business.
