GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develops and manages tactical and strategic resource plan for an offering or service line.
• Manages a team of professional services employees and assigns employees to specific client engagement projects with a goal of effectively balancing resource utilization needs with planning targets, skills allocation, actual utilization and staffing levels.
• Works with consulting management team, program/project managers and client relationship managers to identify type of technical and business resources needed. Assembles teams qualified to perform work and financially aligned with project budget and schedule plans. May work closely with program/project manager during project initiation to define scope and understand type, quantity and timing of resources needed.
• Manages both client and interdepartmental relationships.
• Monitors a large number of projects under management by staff and initiates proactive internal escalations and direct client contact as necessary. May serve as executive sponsor on some projects.
• Collaborates and effectively solves internal barriers with large cross-functional teams to accomplish company goals.
• Incorporates workforce planning and sales support with overall business plan. Monitors and manages travel, education and miscellaneous expenses to an acceptable level as defined in business plan.
• Effectively communicates achievements and performance levels of the team to senior management.
• Communicates with subordinates to provide job-related information as well as changes to company policies and procedures and any general announcements.
• Understands employee skills and proficiencies, provides coaching and career development, assists in setting performance and employee development objectives and conducts performance appraisals and talent management.
• Recruits new staff as needed.
• Monitors utilization reports. Recommends corrective action to maximize both utilization and profitability of resources' billable time. Coordinates plans for resource redeployment or retraining with human resources as needed.
• Manages revenue, expense and personnel budget requirements.
• May contribute to strategic planning and large-scale operational deployment.
• Other related duties assigned as needed.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor's degree in business administration or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Knowledge of FIS products and services
• Knowledge of project management standards, processes, procedures and guidelines
• Knowledge of various types of IT project methodologies and life cycles, e.g., conversions, incremental, rapid delivery, classic or traditional waterfall phases of analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and the correct project application
• Knowledge of standards relevant to the software industry , e.g., ISO, CMM, Six Sigma
• Knowledge of financial services industry
• Excellent leadership, employee development, mentoring and coaching skills
• Ability to interact and negotiate with all levels of management and staff resolve issues efficiently and to reach agreement when there are widely-differing viewpoints
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making team, conflict management, organization and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to interact effectively with executives at both FIS and clients
• Ability to set clear expectations, manage team performance, motivate and develop staff with multiple skill levels and build high morale among team members
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and carry out assignments that are sensitive in nature
FIS JOB LEVEL DESCRIPTION
Senior management role. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Provides guidance to team members within latitude of established company policies. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect group. Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Follows processes and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Faces variable situations that require analytical, interpretive, evaluative, and/or constructive thinking and requires research for solutions or new applications within internal and/or professional services engagements. Uses innovative and strategic thinking in applying theories, principles, and concepts for all but the most complex issues. Exercises judgment on the basis of the financial services industry or experience in project /program management, professional services engagements, or application development and considers various courses of action. Discusses only the complex, unusual situations with Senior Resource Manager. Acts as advisor to team members in meeting schedules and/or resolving problems. Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements, and may have budget responsibilities. Typically manages a staff of up to 25 employees of one or more functional and technical specialties. Typically requires seven or more years of experience in professional services, project management or application development and three or more years of management responsibility.
FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $99,830.00 - $167,700.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
