Position Overview:
The Irrigation Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems & lighting for residential and commercial properties. This role requires a strong understanding of irrigation & lighting management & design, water conservation techniques, and landscape horticulture.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install, maintain, and repair irrigation & lighting systems, including lights, sprinklers, drip systems, and timers.
• Conduct regular inspections and troubleshooting of irrigation systems & lighting to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with landscape designers and managers to implement effective irrigation & lighting solutions.
• Monitor water usage and implement water conservation practices. Program controllers as needed based on weather requirements.
• Provide customer support and educate clients on irrigation system & lighting operation and maintenance.
• Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in landscape irrigation & lighting.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in irrigation technology or landscape management preferred.
• Proven experience in landscape irrigation & lighting installation and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation & lighting components and systems, including pumps, valves, and controllers.
• Ability to read and interpret landscape plans and specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record must be maintained.
• Ability to operate landscaping tools and equipment safely.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
• Ability to kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces.
