Summary
A Senior Technical Specialist 3 will demonstrate their ability to work independently and in a team and manage and succeed in a fast-paced technical environment. This candidate will have a proven ability to analyze situations accurately and reach effective decisions based on informed judgment and consultation.
The Senior Technical Specialist 3, ProjectWise, administers the Bentley ProjectWise system for the MTA Construction & Development (C&D) Agency and provides expertise in this system to the organization. Additionally, the position is accountable for managing and customizing the ProjectWise System to support the technical development and enhancement of Bentley ProjectWise within Computer-Aided Design & Drafting (CADD) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) environments on the Bentley and Autodesk platforms
Responsibilities
Typical job duties may include:
Responsible for all aspects of ProjectWise administration, including the following:
Install and configure the ProjectWise software for internal and external clients throughout the MTA Agencies.
Customize the user interface to optimize the ability to use the tools efficiently.
Provide ProjectWise Desktop Support and monitor ProjectWise-related Help Desk calls to assist with the resolution of client service problems and disruptions on individual workstations.
Integrate Bentley and Autodesk applications with ProjectWise; troubleshoot and modify custom MicroStation environments and configuration files; develop and deliver system training and participate in process workshops.
Apply and maintain system security by managing user account creation, granting authorized user rights based on the requirements of the positions, and the business needs to authorized employees and consultants/contractors.
Prepare projects (Design-Bid-Build/Design-Build) and maintain the project's integrity through the entire life cycle through completion.
Setup and maintenance of ProjectWise Managed Workspace, ProjectWise AutoCAD/Revit/Civil3D integration, Folder Structure, ProjectWise environment, title block integration, workflows, and ICS printing/renditions.
Escalate and work with the appropriate vendor on technical issues that cannot be resolved internally.
Maintenance of the ProjectWise servers/infrastructure (on-premise or hosted in Azure), SQL server database, and application storage (including file restoration requests).
Manage the upgrades of the ProjectWise infrastructure, including planning, testing, and pilot implementation before deployment, research, and resolve all functional development and production issues.
Identify network issues/errors, resolve them, and escalate as appropriate.
Develop and maintain an inventory of all hardware, software, and peripherals related to the system.
Create, maintain, and develop up-to-date ProjectWise policies, standards, applications (tools and legacy modernization), and monitoring, which are in step with currently supported technologies and meet the evolving needs of our customers cost-effectively.
Comply with increasingly complex and demanding Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity requirements for all mission-critical systems.
Prepare knowledge-share documentation and create a ProjectWise Administration manual.
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science degree in an appropriate technical discipline or a related field.
Masters preferred.
Various disciplines may include but are not limited to Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Computer, Communications, Electrical, Electronics, Signals, or Systems Engineering/Technology
Must have a minimum of twelve (12) years of related experience.
Must have a minimum of six (6) years in a managerial or supervisory role and/or project manager role in a large, multi-faceted organization and/or with highly complex systems.
Working knowledge of SQL Server database, SQL scripting, and PowerShell is a plus.
Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) for all platforms and using an Azure Cloud-hosted ProjectWise as a collaboration and integration tool.
Expertise in CADD/BIM in Bentley MicroStation and Autodesk AutoCAD/Revit software.
Experience with ProjectWise deployment, systems monitoring, troubleshooting system, testing, and certifying new versions.
Competencies:
Experience in large-scale technical issues for significant construction projects or projects with highly complex systems preferred.
Experience leading and managing designers, contractors, subcontractors, and/or vendors.
PMP or relevant technical certifications are desirable.
NYS Licensed Professional Engineer a plus
Demonstrated knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all internal organizational levels to drive project/program outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to work in a high-profile, high-pressure environment effectively.
Must have focus and ability to deliver results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.

Must possess excellent team building, listening, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
Alternate Delivery experience preferred.
Proficiency in current design and engineering software and Microsoft Office are required.
